Speaker Boehner, Senator McConnell et al. - Let's stop this Benghazi circus. Whatever political points you feel that you are gaining on the right, you are losing in the middle.
It was a tragedy. It was a failure of the failsafes that are intended to keep our foreign service safe. It should never happen again. But think - just for a moment - at how this spectacle looks. Think about how our fighting men and women must feel that you have expelled so much hot air on this lone incident, yet rarely mention the VA backlog, or the remaining men and women in Afghanistan, or the rising number of veteran suicides, or the rising number of homeless veterans, or the rising number of veterans behind bars, or the rising number of unemployed veterans.
You should be statesmen, and yet you seem small and feckless on this issue. You must have gotten into politics for the right reasons. You must have heard it as a higher calling. Please focus on the more important topics, this nation needs its leaders.

Let's Get to Work.
I've never been very political. It has always seemed to me that politics bring out the worst in people. But tonight something snapped and I've decided enough is enough. This country is full of smart, passionate and caring individuals and their voice has been smothered for too long by the juvenile bickering and partisan politics that has infected our national conversation.
This blog is for that silent majority. Its for the vast majority of patriots that feel like their voice has been missing in modern politics. I hope that through this blog we can start a new conversation. If we can re-shape the debate into something productive – a debate heavy on ideas and civil discourse and free of negative attacks and incendiary comments – we might just be able to start working through the immense challenges this country is going to face in the coming decades.
Will you agree with everything I write? I hope not. I don't have all the answers. The issues I want to tackle won't have simple solutions and won't fall neatly along any political, social or economic lines. That's the point. I want a debate. I want a free exchange of ideas. I want smart people discussing hard problems.
So if you’d like to contribute, stick around. My hunch is that there are a lot of other people out there that feel the way I do and we have a lot to get done. There is just one rule to this blog that I ask that you follow. It is four words and could not be simpler: Don't be a douche. If you disagree with a concept, say so – but ground your arguments in fact and boldly suggest a different approach. Don’t be negative, don’t get personal and don’t come into the conversation unwilling to compromise and we’ll get along fine. That’s all I ask.
Now let’s get to work.
